CAMP-CALIFORNIA.COM ASSIGNS LETTER GRADES TO CAMPGROUNDS BASED ON CONSUMER REVIEWS

AUBURN, Calif., March 15, 2013 -- There are campgrounds, RV parks and resorts in every vacation destination in Caliornia. But most of them are not branded like the Marriotts, Hiltons and Motel 6s of the world.

This can pose a challenge for consumers who want an idea of what they’re getting into before they reserve a campsite or cabin at a campground for the first time.

But this is exactly where Camp-California.com can help.

The statewide travel planning website has a built-in grading system that enables consumers to rate their camping experiences at each park using letter grades from A to F.

“Most of the 350 plus campgrounds, RV parks and resorts have letter grades assigned to them based on consumer reviews,” said Debbie Sipe, executive director of the California Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds, which hosts Camp-California.com.

“The letter grades,” she added, “are a quick way for consumers to separate the best parks from those that are still working to become top rated parks. This is valuable information for consumers to have, particularly as they begin making their spring and summer travel plans.”

But that’s not the only information Camp-California.com provides.

In preparation for the 2013 travel season, Camp-California.com has been loaded up with new sections that highlight terrific ideas on things to do and places to go.

“Camp-California.com isn’t just about camping,” Sipe said. “We have literally spent months compiling the best information we can find on food and music festivals across the state as well as other fun activities, from river rafting to wine tasting. We even have a new section with information on hiking trails and descriptions of some of the best museums in the state.”

And if you don’t have a tent or RV, that’s not a problem, Sipe said, because Camp-California.com has listings of campgrounds that offer their own rental accommodations, from park model cabins to yurts, tipis and RVs, including Airstream trailers.

“Now is the time to check out Camp-California.com,” Sipe said, adding, “We just might be able to give you some vacation ideas you’ve never thought about before!”
