Camp-California Pinpoints Campgrounds with 4th of July Weekend Availability

AUBURN, Calif., July1, 2014 —AUBURN, Calif., July 1, 2014 — There aren't many of them, but has identified a few campgrounds across California that still have vacancy for July 4th weekend.
"If you don't have reservations by now, your options are dwindling fast. But there's still a few campgrounds that have spaces available," said Debbie Sipe, executive director of the California Association of RV Parks & Campgrounds, which hosts, the statewide travel planning website.

As of yesterday, campgrounds with vacancies included:

Klamath River RV Park in Klamath: This park, which features RV and tent sites, will have a barbecue on July 5th with burgers and hot dogs. There will also be games and prizes. The park is located next to the Klamath River, which is a popular location for salmon fishing. California National Redwoods Park is also nearby.

Lassen RV Resort in McArthur: This park is offering 10 percent off for July 4th weekend. Activities include fireworks at Burney Falls. The park includes RV and tent sites and is located near Lassen Volcanic National Park, Lava Beds National Monument, McArthur Burney Falls and Ahjumawi Lava Springs State Park. Fishing enthusiasts will also enjoy Hat Creek, Fall River, Baum Lake and Eagle Lake, all of which are nearby.

River Oaks Resort in Lewiston: This park has 700 feet of Trinity River frontage and is popular with fly fishing enthusiasts. Lake fishing features trout and smallmouth bass. The park includes shaded RV and tent sites as well as park model rentals. Bike and boat rentals are available. Other amenities include a hot tub, sauna, restaurant and snack bar.

Shady Oasis Kampground in Victorville: This campground has RV and tent sites, park model rentals, a swimming pool and playground, restaurant and snack bar.

Sky Valley Resort in Desert Hot Springs: This park features RV sites and vacation cottage rentals. Onsite amenities include pickle ball courts and swimming pools and Jacuzzis fed by natural hot springs.

Emerald Desert RV Resort in Palm Desert: July 4th activities include fun and games poolside with complimentary popsicles for the young at heart. Saturday, July 5th, the park will have tasty muffins, fruit and mimosas from 8:30 to 10 a.m. and kids craft and pool games from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a barbecue dinner from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. with barbecue chicken and barbecued pulled pork sandwiches, pasta salad and corn on the cob. There will also be a watermelon eating contest and a cornhole game. Special rates are available.

The Springs at Borrego RV Resort in Borrego Springs: This RV resort, located just outside Anza Borrego State Park, will have a free July 5th cookout with dessert. The Springs at Borrego RV Resort provides its guests with a variety of amenities not typically found in RV resorts, including a spa and wellness center that offers massages for couples as its newest amenity. The park also recently added a large amphitheater to accommodate large outdoor events.

Oak Creek RV Resort in El Cajon: This park will celebrate Independence Day with a July 5th barbecue on its back lawn. The park will provide hot dogs, hamburgers, entertainment and games, while guests will be asked to bring a side dish to share.
