Pismo Coast Village RV Resort Receives an "A" Grade in the Fifth Annual Consumer Satisfaction Survey of Independent, Privately-Owned Parks

PISMO COAST VILLAGE RV RESORT RECEIVES AN “A” GRADE
IN THE FIFTH ANNUAL CONSUMER SATISFACTION SURVEY
OF INDEPENDENT, PRIVATELY-OWNED PARKS

PISMO BEACH, Calif., March 15, 2013 – Pismo Coast Village RV Resort was one of 42 campgrounds, RV parks and resorts across the country to earn an all around “A” grade in the fifth annual GuestRated.com satisfaction survey of independent parks.

This 400-site park received an “A” grade in overall guest satisfaction for the year 2012. It was the third year that Pismo Coast Village RV Resort has received the “A” rating.

More than 30,000 camping and RV enthusiasts completed reviews in the GuestRated.com online survey, grading their experiences at 3,200 independent RV parks and campgrounds.

“Consistently earning an overall ‘A’ grade from guests is difficult, and our 42 winners this year represent less than 2% of all of the nation’s campgrounds.” said Bob MacKinnon, president and CEO of GuestRated.com, the Murrieta, Calif.-based company that conducted the online survey on behalf of the National Association of RV Parks & Campgrounds.

Built in 1972, Pismo Coast Village RV Resort is the site of a popular Vintage Trailer Rally that takes place on the third Saturday of May as well as an annual Christmas celebration for mentally and physically challenged children from San Luis Obispo County elementary schools. The children are treated to crafts, lunch, presents, tons of love and visits from Santa and Smokey the Bear.

Located a short walk from Pismo Beach, the park is also conveniently located for guests who want to take advantage of the full range of activities San Luis Obispo County has to offer, including zip lining and wine tasting tours.

But while Pismo Coast Village RV Resort offers plenty of things to do, park manager Jay Jamison attributes the resort’s “A” rating to the efforts of his 55 to 70 staff members, most of whom have been working at the park for many years, as well as the resort’s constant efforts to improve its facilities.

“The park is actually better built now than it was originally,” Jamison said. Recent improvements include restroom replacement, new fencing, road paving, and installing new 50 amp utility connections in locations that are more convenient for today’s RVs and remodeling the park’s club house and swimming pool. The park has also installed new landscaping.

“The people who come here appreciate the fact that we’re always investing back into the property,” Jamison said. “Our staff is painting all the time. They will paint the curbs around the resort probably four times a year.”

Pismo Coast Village RV Resort has also developed an RV storage program which currently has 1,700 RVs, which are stored on various properties within 10 miles of the resort. “When the RV owner calls to make a reservation, it triggers a process for that unit to be placed on their site for their day of arrival,” he said, adding that parents and grandparents will often make their RVs available to their children and grandchildren for use at the resort.

“The children and grandchildren don’t even need the skill to drive or tow an RV because we do it for them,” Jamison said.
