Wishon Village RV Park Receives an "A" Grade in the Fifth Annual Consumer Satisfaction Survey of Independent, Privately-Owned Parks

WISHON VILLAGE RV PARK RECEIVES AN “A” GRADE
IN THE FIFTH ANNUAL CONSUMER SATISFACTION SURVEY
OF INDEPENDENT, PRIVATELY-OWNED PARKS

SHAVER LAKE, Calif., March 15, 2013 – Shaver Lake RV Park was one of 42 campgrounds, RV parks and resorts across the country to earn an all around “A” grade in the fifth annual GuestRated.com satisfaction survey of independent parks.

The 97-site park received an “A” grade in overall guest satisfaction for the year 2012. It was the second time Wishon Village has received an “A” grade in the national survey.

More than 30,000 camping and RV enthusiasts completed reviews in the GuestRated.com online survey, grading their experiences at 3,200 independent RV parks and campgrounds.

“Consistently earning an overall ‘A’ grade from guests is difficult, and our 42 winners this year represent less than 2% of all of the nation’s campgrounds.” said Bob MacKinnon, president and CEO of GuestRated.com, the Murrieta, Calif.-based company that conducted the online survey on behalf of the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds.
Built in 1960 by Bill and Katherine Jasper, Wishon Village RV Park has been owned and operated by three generations of the same family.

The Jaspers’ granddaughter, Katie Oneida, has owned and operated the park with her husband, Kris, for the past seven years.
The Oneidas have made many improvements to Wishon Village in recent years, installing new picnic tables and fire pits, remodeling the park store and repainting the bathrooms. The park also offers boat rentals, including two pontoon boats, paddle boats and eight fishing boats on neighboring Wishon Reservoir.

The park also has three trailer rentals and 26 tent sites. But the scenic setting and the unusually large size of the park’s RV sites are what’s most appealing to some guests, including Sharon Fisher of Fresno, who has camped at the park every summer with her family for nearly 30 years.

Fisher said her family typically spends anywhere from two weeks to a month at Wishon Village every summer, depending on her family’s vacation schedules.

“It’s very peaceful and it’s very family oriented,” Fisher said.
