Santa Barbara Zoo

30 acres - 400 animals - 1 great Zoo!  In April 2009, the Santa Barbara Zoo welcomed four juvenile condors to a naturalistic 6,000 square foot space in the Zoo’s newest exhibit complex, California Trails. The opening of Condor Country represents the culmination of many years of dedication and commitment to saving wildlife by many individuals and organizations alike.

The Santa Barbara Zoo is home to 160 species of mammals, reptiles, birds and insects. More than 400 animals are exhibited in open, naturalistic habitats. If you can't visit them in person, you can find out more about their animals by using the animal database at their website.

Santa Barbara Zoo's award-winning Adventure Camps introduce kids to the wild world of animals and science. Age-appropriate themed programs include games, teacher-led workshops, behind-the-scenes visits, up-close animal introductions, hands-on science, and crafts. Zoo Camp scholarships are available.
